NEWCOMER'S FAIR - June 11th

The Newcomers’ Fair will be held inside the CCM Centre on Level 2 of the Crystal Mall in Burnaby (Willingdon / Kingsway) which is centrally located and easily accessible by public transportation.

The main objective of the Fair is to provide a one-stop information and education service for new immigrants on matters and resources related to the settlement and adaptation process in their new home --- Canada. This is the 9th year this major event has been organized and we have been receiving overwhelming response over the years from the community. Over 700 people are expected to attend the Fairt his year.

Fifteen informative workshopswill be conducted in Mandarin by knowledgeable and professional speakers from different organizations. Topics include:

Employment,
Settlement Resources,
Bank Financial Products,
Housing,
Citizenship,
Education,
Taxation,
Labour Law and Rights,
International Students and Permanent Resident Application,
and other new immigrants adaptation process issues

In addition to the workshops,there will also be about 20 information booths in the Centre. Representatives from government departments and community organizations will provide information on their services.
